German-Azerbaijani Export Finance Conference 2025: Advancing Sustainable Partnerships

Baku, October 7, 2025 – The German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) proudly hosted the inaugural German-Azerbaijani Export Finance Conference 2025, uniting more than 200 participants and representatives from over 40 German companies across diverse sectors.

The conference served as a strategic platform to deepen bilateral cooperation in export finance, sustainable investment, and innovation, focusing on key industries such as energy and green technologies, water management, agriculture, and digitalization. Its mission was to foster new cross-border partnerships and promote innovative financial solutions that strengthen long-term, sustainable collaboration between Germany and Azerbaijan.

Opening the event, Nargis Wieck, Executive Director of AHK Azerbaijan, underlined Germany’s strong interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the fields of energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and digital innovation. She emphasized that sustainable development and industrial diversification rely on forward-thinking financial instruments, smart technologies, and collaborative innovation.

H.E. Ralf Horlemann, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan, reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to enhancing economic ties with Azerbaijan. Highlighting the positive momentum in bilateral relations, driven by the South Caucasus peace process, renewed EU–Azerbaijan dialogue, and growing private sector initiatives, he noted Germany’s readiness to seize emerging opportunities in partnership with Azerbaijani stakeholders.

Representing the Government of Azerbaijan, Samad Bashirli, Deputy Minister of Economy, emphasized the dynamic progress of Azerbaijani-German economic relations and the vast potential for future cooperation. He detailed Azerbaijan’s priorities for economic diversification, its favorable investment climate, strategic logistical position, growing public–private partnerships, and ambitious plans for renewable energy development.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in a rich program featuring keynote addresses, sector panels, expert discussions, and B2G matchmaking sessions, offering practical insight into financial frameworks, regulatory developments, and successful partnership models driving sustainable growth.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of “Market Analysis Azerbaijan 2025–2026”, a comprehensive study by AHK Azerbaijan in collaboration with Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI). The publication provides a detailed overview of Azerbaijan’s key industries and identifies emerging investment opportunities for German enterprises.

The conference also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG and Green Energy Corridor Power Company, paving the way for collaboration on cutting-edge High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) technology for green energy transmission.

This landmark conference is part of AHK Azerbaijan’s joint initiative with the German Eastern Business Association (OA) and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO), developed under the strategic vision supported by President Ilham Aliyev and Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to strengthen long-term cooperation between both nations.

The event was organised in partnership with OA, COMMIT Project Partners GmbH, Euler Hermes, German Water Partnership, and AZPROMO.
